WHAT IS AN SSL CERTIFICATE?
An SSL certificate is required for secure (encrypted) data transfer on the Internet. The abbreviation SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer, which means “secure transmission level”. In contrast to a non-encrypted internet connection, a so-called “SSL handshake” is carried out before the data transfer, which establishes a secure connection before e.g. personal customer data (name, address, credit card data, …) are transmitted.
“The world is not threatened by people who are evil, but by those who allow evil.”
SSL means “Secure Sockets Layer”. When a website uses SSL, the communication between your computer, smartphone or tablet and the website is encrypted. When your computer connects to a website, the SSL certificate ensures a secure and encrypted end-to-end connection. That’s exactly what we do for you.
The legal requirements of the new GDPR also include the Passus SSL encryption of your website, for which you as an entrepreneur are personally liable.
